Motion Spivey second Morgan to table discussion of street repairs until after sewer line repairs are finished. Carried unanimously.
Motion Spivey second Eggers to approve request by Bridgette Sedlacek to rezone property within two miles of city limits from A1 Rural to RS Suburban Residential as presented on application to Johnson County Board of Supervisors. Carried unanimously.
Motion Stratton second Morgan to approve request by Dick Gent to resubdivide property within two miles of city limits in Westfield Subdivision as presented on application to Johnson County Board of Supervisors. Carried unanimously.
Motion Spivey second Stoner to approve applications from Franz Construction for two buildings at Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company sub-station site per plans presented. Carried unanimously.
Motion Eggers second Stoner to approve application for Class "C" liquor license by Greg Stevens and Terry Miller for Slim's Saloon. Carried unanimously.
Spivey: Did Mr. Castek say he would do everything for water and sewer to fill in when Bob is gone, or just do tests?
Morgan: I asked him if he'd fill in for vacations and he said "yes".
Hart: When I talked with him I told him he'd be a total fill in.
Spivey: Maybe he didn't understand because he told Bob he would only do tests. I don't expect him to plow snow and mow grass, but we do need him to do everything relative to the water and sewer when Bob is not available.
Hart: He totally maintains the other cities he works with. I'll straighten it out.
Potter reported that the alarm malfunctioned at the sewer plant. Spivey said it malfunctions often. Hart stated that the heat affects it.
Spivey: Town man can't be at home all the time. When will Caktek be tied into the alarm?
Hart stated that he would take care of it as soon as Castek gets a phone.
Motion Morgan second Stoner to approve clerk-treasurer's reports. Carried unanimously.
Motion Spivey second Eggers to approve bills and accept receipts. Carried unanimously.
Motion Stratton second Eggers to adjourn at 7:30 p.m. Carried unanimously.
