Motion Eggers second Stratton to approve building permit for Chris Coblentz at 101 Summerhays Street to enclose porch per lot layout plan submitted. Carried unanimously. Tim Spivey presented letter from Dale Dahnke requesting to divide his property at 341 Main and 111 Marengo Road into two lots. The property is 140' by 65' now. Each lot would be approximately 70' by 65'. Clerk: When I talked with the realtor, Betty Hospodarsky, I visualized the request running the other way. This does not need to go through the council or the board of adjustment. The lot sits in a commercial zone which requires a lot size of 35' by 35'. I'm not sure how many parking spaces are required. I think it's one per 1,000 sq. feet of lot space. Council consensus to approve division of lot at 341 Main and 111 Marengo Road into two separate lots. Motion Stratton second Spivey to approve donation to Tiffin Fire Department on July 1, 1989 in an estimated amount of $1790.00 to cover hoses and nozzle which are needed to lower the city's insurance rating. Carried unanimously. Council consensus to advertise in The Leader and Gazette and sell town shed on playground by sealed bid at next meeting. Spivey: Could we set permanent open burning dates so we don't have to do this twice each year? Just go anytime between April 15 and May 15. Potter: Firemen asked that we only allow burning on weekends because not many firemen are available during the day on weekdays. Motion Eggers second Spivey to set open burning dates for April 15 through May 15 during daylight hours on weekends. Carried unanimously. Clerk will post and put notice in The Leader. Motion Stratton second Stoner to table clean-up day until next meeting. Carried unanimously. Motion Eggers second Stoner to approve request by Bob Thompson for renewal of Class "C" liquor license for Lark effective May 1, 1989. Roll call vote: Eggers, aye; Stoner, aye; Spivey, aye; Stratton, aye. Morgan absent. Carried. Motion Stoner second Spivey to approve request by Tom Morgan for renewal of Class "C" beer permit for Morgan's Standard effective May 15, 1989. Roll call vote: Eggers, aye; Stoners, aye; Statton, aye; Spivey, aye. Morgan absent. Carried. Potter: I asked the engineer to look at the corner of Grant and Second Street and see if there's proper drainage. Spivey: Stratton's had to repair the sewer line there. They didn't haul in any extra dirt. Hart: I looked at it and the water will stay in the gravel and will not affect the street. Spivey: It's been that way for 60 years. There would have to be any awfully hard rain. There are places all around town just like this one.
