1, 1990. Roll call vote: Bartels, aye; Slaymaker, aye; Brown, aye; Morgan, aye; Stoner, aye. Carried unanimously. Mayor Potter appointed The Leader as official newspaper for 1990. Motion Bartels second Slaymaker to appoint Stephen Greenleaf as city attorney for 1990 with assistance from Bob Michael. Carried unanimously. Motion Morgan second Bartels to appoint Michael Hart as city engineer for 1990. Carried unanimously. Mayor Potter appointed Sandra Morgan as Mayor Pro-tem to 1990. Mayor Potter appointed Laurie Slaymaker to Park Commission for term expiring September, 1990 and Margaret Bueter and Rick Janssen to Park Commission for terms expiring September, 1991. Mayor Potter appointed Carrie Stratton to Planning and Zoning Commission for term expiring September, 1990. Hart reported that well #3 pipe needed to be replaced due to corrosion from two different metals interacting. Bartels reported that the Fire Association's insurance agent in Kalona assured him that the First Responders and HAZ-MAT team are covered under the policy. Bartels will ask him to put it in writing. Bartels presented quote for sand spreader. Potter will check into it. Motion Morgan second Brown to approve clerk-treasurer's reports. Carried unanimously.
