TIFFIN COMMUNITY SURVEY IN JULY The City Council of Tiffin wants to inform community residents of a local income survey which will be conducted in July 1998. The City of Tiffin is currently exploring possible funding sources for future community projects. The City has experienced some problems with the municipal water system, and is aware of the need for other future improvements to the drainage system and city streets among other projects. Concerns about these project costs led the City Council to explore all possible funding sources to help pay for projects. The City is considering making application for grants and loans to help pay for community projects. *Grants and loans could reduce the cost to local taxpayers by as much as $250,000.* The City has already had some success in getting outside funds, but the City Council wants to make every effort to reduce the cost burden to local taxpayers. In July community volunteers will go door-to-door to collect information for the grant and loan applications. The survey will only take a few minutes, and IS COMPLETELY CONFIDENTIAL. Tiffin residents will be asked the following questions: a. Briefly summarize your household's annual income. b. How many people live in your household on a full-time basis? c. Indicate if your household has persons aged 62 years or older, or if any household member is disabled. d. Please check off the correct racial/ethnic descriptions for your household. e. Describe your support for various community projects and programs. TIFFIN NEEDS YOUR HELP The City needs your help to complete the survey. Every home and apartment will be surveyed. Please take a few minutes to answer the survey questions. Tell your neighbors to expect the survey takers to visit in July. The City will put up notices throughout the community to let you know when to expect volunteers your neighborhood. REMEMBER: *a successful survey can mean a successful grant application and real savings to local taxpayers.*
