A regular meeting of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission was brought to order by Chair Dan O'Halloran. Members present: Tina Walls, Dan O'Halloran, Steve Berner, Terry Richardson and Melvin Reeve. Absent: None. Also present: Mayor Glenn Potter, Councilmember Jim Bartels, Ed Cole and Cliff Rohrick.
Motion Berner, second Richardson to approve printed minutes. Ayes: O'Halloran, Berner, Richardson, Walls, and Reeve. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Ed Cole was present to visit with the council regarding possible plans for the area north of Potter Street and east of the intersection of Goldfinch and Roberts Ferry. The Commission indicated a desire to see the area develop for R-1 zoning. Ed Cole asked about R-2 or R-3 in the area. The Commission indicated that they would study a plan that included some R-2 and R-3, but they felt that what they would really desire in the area is R-1.
Jennifer Leavy was present to indicate that she would like to see as much R-1 in the area as possible as she felt this made Tiffin a desirable community and the R-1 zoning in the Goldfinch area was one of the reasons that she had moved here. Ms. Leavy also asked about the possibility of a city park in the Songbird Estates area. She also reported mud washing out on the road at the top of Roberts Ferry Road near the Clyde Blish residence.
Tight cul-de-sac on Tulip Court were discussed, the planning and zoning recommended that the building standards design be reviewed by the city engineer to see if standards could be improved.
Motion Walls, second Reeve to adjourn. Motion carried. 7:25 p.m.
