TIFFIN PLANNING AND ZONING August 4, 1999 A regular meeting of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission was brought to order by Chair Dan O'Halloran at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 4, 1999 at the Tiffin Fire Station. Commission members present: Dan O'Halloran, Tian Walls, Melvin Reeve and Terry Richardson. Absent: Steve Berner. Also present: Mayor Glenn Potter, and Councilmember Jim Bartels. Motion Reeve, second Richardson to approve printed minutes. Ayes: Walls, Richardson, O'Halloran and Reeve. Absent: Berner. Nays: None. Motion carried. No parking signs near the Grace United Methodist Church were discussed. Building Inspector Greg Schott explained parking problems being experienced on Iris Court. Mr. Sewell is not following the submitted plans for his building site. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that the City Council support a stop on construction or new satisfactory building and parking plan before continued construction is allowed at this location. Building Inspector Greg Schott explained building progress problems at 400 N. Stephans Street. Unresolved issues include: 1) incomplete parking work 2) safety and fire violations 3) lack of sidewalk improvements 4) junk car storage. The Building Inspector has notified owners not to proceed with further work until safety issued are addressed. The Building Inspector explained that an occupancy permit has not be issued due to these problems. Planning and Zoning recommended that the City Council support the nonoccupancy until problems are corrected. The Planning and Zoning will continue study and review of Community Comprehensive Plan into the year. Planning and Zoning Members recommended that city council pursue voluntary annexation procedures on the south exit of I-80. Motion Walls, second Richardson to adjourn.
