Planning and Zoning Commission City of Tiffin September 1, 1999 A regular meeting of the Tiffin Planning and Zoning Commission was brought to order by Chair Dan O'Halloran, 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, 199 at the Tiffin Fire Station. Planning and Zoning Members present: Chair Dan O'Halloran, Melvin Reeve, Steve Berner, and 6:40 arriving Tina Walls. Absent: Terry Richardson. Also present: Mayor Glenn R. Potter, and Council member Jim Bartels. John Connor was present to explain his storage garage shed planned for his parcel of ground off Jasper Avenue south and east of the city. Rick Dvorak of Johnson County Zoning recommended that the parcel go to RS-3 zoning and that is what Mr. Connor is seeking from the county. Motion Reeve, second Berner to recommend to the Tiffin City Council approval of this requested zoning change Z9936 in Johnson County. Ayes: Berner, Walls, Reeve and O'Halloran. Nays: None. Absent: Richardson. Motion carried. Members were updated on variance request made by Mr. Clarence Sewell, builder on Iris Court of two 12 plex buildings. Motion O'Halloran, second Walls to recommend to the Tiffin Board of Adjustment that this request for variance be denied for the reason that the original submitted plans were not followed by the builder. Further, that because the plans show sufficient space for moving garages to meet city requirements, this should be done. Ayes: Walls, Berner, O'Halloran, and Reeve. Nays: None. Absent: Richardson. Motion carried. Planning and Zoning was updated on status of most recent annexation to the city in Bacculis-Grace Farms. Safety sign and lights at the school were discussed by Planning and Zoning.
