Motion Peterson to postpone awarding a contract for the Tree Removal for Ireland Avenue Extension Project until the regular meeting on August 10, 2011 in order to get everyone on line and find out about the requirement for inspection for bats. Mayor stated that the problem is that there is a deadline in the specifications to remove the 17th. trees by August Mehmen stated that delaying the project would interfere with the school' s parking lot. Mayor suggested that the council could award the contract with the stipulation that the IDNR will provide information about the bats. Mehmen stated concern about trimming. around the power lines. Motion seconded by Weipert. Peterson stated that he wants to re- bid the project. Mayor stated that the council will have to consider its options on how to proceed. Bartels asked about Iowa Code 91- C concerning the need for contractors to be registered with the State of Iowa. Mayor reported that Code of Iowa requires contractors to register with the Iowa Workforce Development before doing business in Iowa. Vote: Bartels, aye; Peterson, aye; Weipert, aye.
