CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL July 30, 2026 • Rec Fest is right around the corner, scheduled for Friday, August 7th and Saturday, August 8th. For this year’s event we have moved the 5K to Friday night with a DJ following the race. Saturday will begin at 4:00 p.m. but still packed full of fun. Two bands will be playing that evening. Trophy Dads and opening for them will be Sad Dads. The event will again be held in the open green space area between the New York and Ventnor buildings in the Park Place City Center. Attached is the event flyer which includes Rec Fest. Bri Wilkerson will be at the council meeting again to give a final update on the event. • National Night Out, sponsored by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, is scheduled for this Tuesday, August 4th, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. The Sheriff’s Department, the Fire Department, Troy Bryant (sponsoring the car show) and the City have all coordinated for the event. This year National Night Out will be in and around the fire station and the vacant lot just west of the fire station. • On Tuesday, July 28th, a team from Homemakers spent the majority of the day in Tiffin familiarizing themselves with the community and making connections for when their facility is open. The day included a lunch (which involved representatives from Greater IC) a tour of the Springmier Library, the Middle School and the Clear Creek Amana Community Food Pantry. The day ended with a Cookie Social in the council chambers that saw a steady flow of patrons until 5:00 p.m. Homemakers is planning on having more of these events/visits as progress continues on facility and as they get closer to the opening. • Friday, August 14 – Movie in the Park: The City of Tiffin invites residents to join us for our next movie night in the park at Park Place City Center (1100 Andersen Place). The featured film will be Matilda, with the movie beginning at dusk (Approx 8:30pm). Free Popcorn and water will be provided for attendees, while supplies last. Attendees are encouraged to support Tiffin’s local restaurants for food and beverages, or you can always have a picnic at the movie. Bring your own chairs and blankets to enjoy a fun, family-friendly evening with friends and neighbors.
