Approval of Change Order #17 – Boomerang Corporation - North Park Road Improvements — E-7

B-Reason for Change 8240: Add 8in truss pipe for a sanitary service to Daytona Estates at the SW corner of Mopar Drive and North Park Rd (see sheet M.12). It was recently discovered that an 8-inch sanitary sewer service, which was intended to be installed as part of a previous project, was never constructed. The City wishes to install this sanitary sewer while construction is still in progress and while the road is still unpaved. 8250: Subdrain on the current phase has already been installed prior to discovering the missing sanitary service. The Subdrain Repair bid item includes the removal and replacement of any subdrain impacted by the excavation required to install the sanitary sewer service. 8260: Storm sewer pipe on the current phase has already been installed. The proposed change order sanitary will cross under storm pipe P-30, to safely construct the trench this pipe will be cut out and replaced. The Type C-1 connection bid item includes the sawcutting on the RCP pipe, and pouring (2) two collars back per SW-211. 0080: Because the roadway has already been constructed with Modified Subbase, an overrun of the existing Modified Subbase bid item has been included for the removal and reinstallation of the roadway section impacted by this work. This work consists of carefully removing and stockpiling as much of the existing Modified Subbase as possible without contaminating the material during excavation, then reinstalling the salvaged Modified Subbase after the trench has been properly backfilled. Compensation for this item will be based on the actual field-measured quantity, with the measured volume doubled to account for both the removal and reinstallation of the Modified Subbase. The estimated quantity of 88.89 CY is provided solely for bidding purposes and will be adjusted to reflect the actual quantity required to complete the work. C-Settlement for cost(s) of change 8240: Agreed unit price. 8250: Agreed unit price. 8260: Agreed unit price. 0080: Contract unit bid price. D-Justification for cost(s) 8240: Agreed unit price. Unit Price ($125.00/LF) could not be compared with the Summary of Awarded Contract Unit Prices for the item from February 2023 to June 2026 for 8in sanitary service, as no recent bids for this item have been recorded. It is acknowledged that the lack of bids in the Summary may reflect low quantities, and so we could consider the bid prices of 4 IN. and 6 IN. in the Summary. The Agreed unit price ($125.00/LF) is above both the 4 IN. and 6 IN. unit prices when compared with the Summary of Awarded Contract Unit Prices for the item(s) from January 2026 to July 2026.
