RESOLUTION NO. 2021-012 A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND CHAPTER 35 OF THE TIFFIN MUNICIPAL CODE TO CREATE A CITY OF TIFFIN FIRE DEPARTMENT Whereas, The City of Tiffin has entered into a contract agreement with the Tiffin Fire Association for fire protection and prevention within the City; and, Whereas, this agreement has been in place for many decades within the City; and, Whereas, The Tiffin Fire Association voted at its annual meeting to transfer all operations and ownership to the City of Tiffin; and, Whereas, the City of Tiffin must first approve an ordinance creating a fire department. Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to set the date of public hearing for March 2, 2021, to discuss amending chapter 35 of the Tiffin Municipal Code to create a City of Tiffin fire department. On the 16th day of February, 2021, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson _____ introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2021-012, A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND CHAPTER 35 OF THE TIFFIN MUNICIPAL CODE TO CREATE A CITY OF TIFFIN FIRE DEPARTMENT and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson _____. Ayes: Nays: Absent: Whereupon _____ Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared that the RESOLUTION NO. 2021-012, A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND CHAPTER 35 OF THE TIFFIN MUNICIPAL CODE TO CREATE A CITY OF TIFFIN FIRE DEPARTMENT to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
