______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL – NOTES FOR WORK SESSION ITEMS February 12, 2021 • Because of a scheduling conflict, I am putting this item ahead of the fire department transition discussion. However, I believe this item should only take about 15-20 minutes which will allow for enough time for the transition discussion. Kevin Hochstedler, the developer of Central Park Condominiums on Potter Street, would like to rezone the vacant lot just north of Casey’s and just south of the first set of condos. He is proposing to rezone it from C-1B to R-8 and build an eight-unit residential building. Attached is both an aerial of the vacant lot and a conceptual drawing of the unit. Kevin would like some informal feedback from the council prior to a formal submittal. Planning & Zoning informally discussed this issue at the February 10th meeting. At least one and possibly two planning and zoning members will be participating in this discussion as well. • Item I-3 on the regular agenda is an action item to set a public hearing to create a City of Tiffin Fire Department by amending the City’s current ordinance. Attached is a draft of the ordinance. This has been sent to Legal for their review as well. • As I briefly mentioned during my report at the last meeting, Mark Nolte with Project Better Together will be at the work session to give an update of last year’s activities and next year’s goals and priorities. • Time permitting, I will give an update on the budget. If we run short on time, I can discuss that during my report at the end of the regular meeting.
