AGENDA ITEM # K-3 AGENDA INFORMATION TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION DATE: April 16, 2021 AGENDA ITEM: Discussion and Consideration of Purchase of Vehicle for the Building Department and Council Action as Needed ACTION: Motion SYNOPSIS: In this year’s budget we have budgeted for a vehicle for the Recreation Department. We believe the best vehicle option for that department is a small pickup to be able to haul items such as soccer balls, basketballs, cones and other recreation equipment. We have talked to McGrath, Junge and Deery about a small white pickup but inventory is very slim right now. Talking among the staff, we think we have come up with a workable solution. What we would like to do is purchase another small SUV for the Building Department (similar to what we did when the City hired Nick Sitzman) and then float the pickup that Brian Shay drives to the Recreation Department. Attached are four bids from the above mentioned auto dealers to further discuss on Tuesday night. This year’s budget has $15,000 in the Recreation Department for a vehicle. We will still use that line item for the vehicle and make up the difference in the Building Department’s budget.
