AGENDA INFORMATION
TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
DATE: April 16, 2021
AGENDA ITEM: Discussion and Consideration of Use of City Green Space off of Brown
Street for Event and Council Action as Needed
ACTION: Motion
SYNOPSIS: This item might end up not needing to be acted on yet based on what the
outcome of the pre-construction meeting for Phase Two is on Monday afternoon. However, a
request has been made to the City to be able to use the green space off of Brown Street (see
attached map) for a small wedding in June. Using this area and space is not something I think
falls under our normal Special Events Application. That document is typically for events in a
City Park or on/using a City Street. This would be a small event of about 30 people. The
original preferred location was the park at Old City Hall. However, since we think that area
might be torn-up from the Phase Two construction, that is why the couple are seeking
alternative sights. Again, this may not need to be acted on yet based on the pre-construction
meeting. Plus, I have also reached out to our insurance agent about potential liabilities of
allowing this area to be used for an even like this. I will have more information at the
meeting.
