AGENDA ITEM # K-5 AGENDA INFORMATION TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION DATE: April 16, 2021 AGENDA ITEM: Discussion and Consideration of Additional Utility Bill Assistance for 819 Jackson Street and Council Action as Needed ACTION: Motion SYNOPSIS: Jennifer Kluth at 819 Jackson Street has requested this item to be back on the agenda to address one additional item with the City Council. On October 22, 2020, Jennifer’s landlord did some work in the house to rectify her water leak because at that time, they were still trying to chase down the leak. After her landlord left her house, Jennifer says she called and asked how to read the meter (to try and determine excessive usage) but believes she was incorrectly told how to read it. December 1, 2020, is when she believes she was correctly told how to read the meter from a water/wastewater employee. Jennifer’s usage in that timeframe was about 24,000 gallons of water which would be about $243.00 in water and sewer charges. Jennifer is asking the council to review this specific timeframe of usage and charges for assistance.
