AGENDA ITEM # K-3 AGENDA INFORMATION TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION DATE: April 30, 2021 AGENDA ITEM: Discussion and Consideration of Improvements to the Tennis Courts and Council Action as Needed ACTION: Motion SYNOPSIS: In this year’s budget we have budgeted for the resurfacing of the tennis courts located in the southwest corner of the soccer fields. Attached is the bid from Tennis Services of Iowa. This is the same company that worked with the City last year to determine what surfacing and striping would be a good upgrade to the courts. Included in the bid are three options Frank requested and that we’d like the council may want to consider with the resurfacing as to further improve the facility. 1) a windscreen on three sides of the fence; 2) printing the City’s logo on two sides of the screen; 3) an 8’ x 12’ practice board to be installed on one portion of the fence. The base bid for the striping is $12,580. The options are $7885. This would bring the total to $20,465. We budgeted $15,000 for the striping, however one of the areas in which we could make up some of that balance is from the concession stand supplies. Since we’ve only begun to purchase product now and did not purchase any for the seasons in July and August, we anticipate having a little balance that could be used towards the options.
