AGENDA ITEM # K-4 AGENDA INFORMATION TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION DATE: August 27, 2026 AGENDA ITEM: Discussion and Consideration of Purchase of 2025 Chevrolet Equinox LT for Parks & Recreation Department ACTION: Motion Background The Parks & Recreation Department currently utilizes a pickup truck for a variety of operational activities, including hauling equipment, materials, event supplies, and other items that require an open cargo bed or towing capability. While the pickup truck is well suited for those purposes, it is not the ideal vehicle for transporting food, groceries, paper products, and other supplies that need to remain protected from weather and environmental conditions. The Parks & Recreation Department has an ongoing need to make short, routine trips to purchase food and other supplies for City concessions and recreational programming. These trips may include purchasing items from Costco, grocery stores, restaurant suppliers, or other local retailers. Staff is recommending the addition of a smaller enclosed SUV to the Department's vehicle fleet to address this specific operational need. Staff has identified a certified pre-owned 2025 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD available through McGrath Auto as an appropriate vehicle for this purpose.
