FAQs/Talking Points
HOW LONG WILL THIS CLOSURE LAST?
The Ireland Avenue to I-80 eastbound on-ramp will be closed to traffic for up to 2 months, and then will re-open to traffic.
WHY/WHAT ARE THEY WORKING ON WITH THE RAMP?
The ramp is currently being resurfaced, and portions of I-80 near the end of the on-ramp are being widened.
WILL ANY OF THE OTHER IRELAND AVE ON/OFF RAMPS BE CLOSED IN THE FUTURE?
At this time, there are no additional long-term closures anticipated at the Ireland Avenue interstate ramps. However, there will be some overnight closures taking place periodically over the next several years. These should have minimal impact on businesses and residents of Tiffin.
WHAT OTHER UPCOMING IMPACTS CAN TIFFIN EXPECT?
• There is the potential for rerouting of traffic patterns through town, as the detour routes traffic north on Ireland Ave to U.S. 6 during this closure of the I-80 eastbound on-ramp.
• In the future, widening of I-80 near the Ireland Avenue interchange will be occurring.
• In the future, construction of the Jasper Avenue bridge will occur.
