K-5 - Expanded Parking Lot at Fire Department

AGENDA ITEM # K-5 AGENDA INFORMATION TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION DATE: August 13, 2021 AGENDA ITEM: Discussion and Consideration of Expanded Parking Area at the Fire Department and Council Action as Needed ACTION: Motion SYNOPSIS: Ben Carhoff was asked to look into the cost of adding some additional parking/driveway on the north side of the fire station. This would be an area roughly 32’x 80’. Using LL Pelling’s bid prices, this can be paved for $9,841.78. This would entail placing asphalt on the existing gravel area. It does not include grading work described in Pelling’s proposal. Attached is a drawing of the proposal. Ben says creating the additional parking will require moving the edge of the proposed driveway and changes to the proposed storm sewer on the project. These can be made, but we need to give him a commitment after Tuesday’s meeting so he has time to redesign the storm sewer, driveway and make the necessary changes to the staking before Rathje begins the street work on Main Street.
