I recommend seeking approval from the City Council for up to a $3,500 to cost share match the Iowa DNR's max math of $3,500. The DNR will fund a max of $3,500.00. With the 50% from Tiffin and the 50% from the Iowa DNR, that leaves us with a total of $7,000 if we are awarded the maximum amount. The grant will be used for wildland firefighting tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment, to include wildland firefighting turnout coats, pants, and hoods (this is the main priority along with some hand tools, equipment, and lights this year). I've attached the application form and rules for it. The goal is to outfit every firefighter with wildland PPE (we have 5 sets on order from the state fire marshal's grant award that we got from the fireworks grant).
