______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL – NOTES FOR SPECIAL MEETING/WORK SESSION October 22, 2021 • Attached is the PowerPoint presentation from Jon Thomas with Workforce Solutions that was reviewed at last Tuesday’s meeting. As was discussed with Sheriff Kunkel, the council needs to tentatively decide a direction or transition plan for the City’s law enforcement commitment with Johnson County for next fiscal year. Sheriff Kunkel will be at the meeting as well to help facilitate the discussion. • Also attached are the three new fire ordinances (Hazardous Substance Spills, Fire Safety Permit and False Alarm) for the council’s review that were briefly discussed last Tuesday. Please review the ordinances along with the proposed attached amendment to the 2018 International Fire Code. We were able to discuss the fire code amendments at length on Tuesday night but I’ve included them again in case there were additional questions or comments on it. Public hearings for each of them were set on Tuesday night so no additional action for them will be required. • Requested to be added to the agenda for Tuesday night is a brief discussion of the Federal ARPA funds. This topic was on the Joint Entities Meeting agenda last Monday. I will give an update on that along with having a discussion of potential uses of Tiffin’s allotment.
