______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL November 12, 2021 • Project Updates: o Metro Pavers has poured second street and the majority of the remaining sidewalks. LL Pelling was also here this week working on Summerhays and Second Street. The objective for the project between now and the first measurable snow is complete all the areas that are still just rocked. This may require a few areas to be a temporary surface, but it would at least be a hard surface through the winter. This will make it easier for both the City and the affected property owners to remove snow. o The Dog Park Permeable Pavers Parking Lot project was stripped last week. The final walk-through with the DNR for both projects is scheduled for Monday afternoon. • The computers for the Fire Department and Public Works Department purchased from money issued by the State from the Cares Act specifically earmarked for technology, were shipped this week. • Rescheduled for Monday, November 15th is the pre-construction meeting for Well #5 Test Well Improvements Project. • Tuesday was the Iowa League of Cities Annual Budget Workshop. Attached is the ‘Budget Projections & Issues’ handout I annually include in the packet for your review as we head into the budget season. • Also attached is a draft of the Urban Chicken Permit Application. • I should have the goal setting session questionnaire finished and distributed next week. At the meeting on Tuesday I will have a couple of dates to discuss on when the session could be held. • Just FYI, I will be out of the office on November 23rd and 24th. I will still be available though by e-mail, phone or text. • Just a friendly reminder, City Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 25th and Friday, November 26th for Thanksgiving.
