AGENDA ITEM # WS -C XIV. Final Summary Overall, the 2026 codification is intended to provide the City with a current, organized, and more easily administered Code of Ordinances. While the project includes several substantive changes. Most notably the separation of the City Clerk and City Administrator roles, creation of the new City Administrator chapter, formal adoption of SUDAS, updates to the 2024 building codes, revised home-based business regulations, updated floodplain standards, and changes to other regulatory provisions. It also includes a significant amount of necessary housekeeping and updates to reflect current State law and City practices. The goal of this process is not to rewrite the City's entire regulatory framework, but to bring the Code up to date, consolidate existing requirements, clarify responsibilities and procedures, eliminate outdated or duplicative provisions, and create a Code that is easier for the City, residents, businesses, developers, and staff to understand and administer. Following adoption, the City Code will be available online, providing the public with convenient and easy access to the City's ordinances. ATTACHMENTS: Draft Code 8
