Call to Order — Work Session Notes

__________________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL – NOTES FOR WORK SESSION ITEMS October 1, 2026 • As discussed at the last council meeting, the topics of reviewing the current job description for the Fire Chief, the process for hiring the Fire Chief and the timeline for advertising for the position will be discussed during this work session. Attached is the current job description. Please review it for any potential changes. Interim Fire Chief Tom Hartshorn will be at the meeting to give additional insight on all of these items. • Also discussed at the last meeting was the review process for the draft of the City Code prior to the public hearing and the codification approval. Ashley has received comments from council and will present/review them in the context of the existing code at the work session. Attached are the code sections for review and some suggestions for discussions. With council approval/direction, suggested changes will be incorporated in the draft code for the codification. Please reach out to Ashley prior to the meeting on Tuesday night if you have other specific questions on either the attached or other proposed changes to the code.
