______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL January 14, 2022 • A Progress Meeting has been scheduled for the end of next week with Rathje Construction to start planning the spring work for the Original Town Phase Two project. • Just a friendly reminder we will be having a Special City Council Meeting on Tuesday, January 25th, starting at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the FY 2022-2023 Budget. We will have a light meal at the meeting. • The next Joint Entities Meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 24th at 4:30 p.m. The meeting will be hosted by Johnson County in their boardroom at 913 S. Dubuque Street as well as conducted via Zoom. I will e-mail the agenda once it is received as this meeting will take place prior to our next council meeting. • Item K-3 – Included in the packet are detailed price summaries from Henderson Products as it pertains to the increased cost of materials for the dump truck that was ordered for the Public Works Department last year. As we all know, this kind of thing is happening all over and even though we ordered the truck with the idea or hope to potentially avoid something like this, Henderson has not been able to hold their prices. Henderson has had to contact all of their customers who are already in their ‘queue’ with truck orders and share/explain the situation. Brian Detert met with the Henderson representative this week and the situation just simply isn’t good. Brian will be at the meeting to further explain this but based upon the information and explanation given to Brian, the City’s options for trying to prevent the increases are very limited. • Just FYI, I will be out of the office February 7th – 9th. I will still be available by e-mail, phone or text.
