PROJECT UPDATE
NORTH PARK ROAD IMPROVEMENTS – JAMES WATTERS
On Tuesday, September 29th a preliminary punch-list meeting was held to review stage 1 items. A list of
completion items and repairs was sent to the Contractor. Stage 2 will be reviewed in the coming weeks.
All roadway pavement has been completed. The only paving work remaining is the south Homemakers
entrance, sidewalk and trail for the entire length of the project excepting the east section of trail south of
the roundabout.
There is currently no solid road opening date, but when thew road is opened to the public, the plan for
completing sidewalk and trail work includes keeping both outer lanes on much of the project closed until
completion.
Other items remaining on the project include permanent signing, pavement markings, seeding, and several
pedestrian underpass items including lighting, overlay, coatings, and repair work.
US 6 AND DEER VIEW AVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL DESIGN – JAMES WATTERS
The City is upgrading the temporary traffic signals at US 6 and Deer View Avenue to permanent signals. The
survey was delayed to allow topo collection for this intersection and the North Park Road intersection at
the same time. Survey work for both intersections has now been scheduled and will be completed shortly.
A kickoff meeting with the City will be held after the survey is completed. Traffic turning movement counts
are planned for late November and will likely be used to support the design of the proposed improvements.
Trail and stormwater improvements are also anticipated as part of the overall design effort in this area.
ROBERTS FERRY ROAD SHOULDER WIDENING – ANDREW INHELDER
MSA has completed preliminary design and will present to City Staff to determine next steps.
VILLAGE DRIVE & ROBERTS FERRY ROAD SIGNAL DESIGN – ANDREW INHELDER
Project was awarded to Neumiller Electric, Inc on May 19th, 2026.
Underground work, sidewalk, and paving is completed for this project. The poles/mast arms are
scheduled to be delivered in early November. The contractor plans to button the site up and re-mobilize
in November to install the poles and activate the signal.
HWY 6 UNDERPASS CONNECTION – ANDREW INHELDER
The City is interested in applying for a TAP Grant to excavate and connect the existing underpass under
HWY 6 north of the school. MSA is working through the TAP Grant application and will submit prior to the
deadline of October 1, 2026.
