______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL – NOTES FOR WORK SESSION ITEMS June 2, 2023 • Tuesday night we will have the follow-up (onsite) to the Special City Council meeting that was held on May 16th for the abatements at 141 East Third Street. Like we have done before, everyone will still meet at City Hall first. Once the meeting is called to order at 5:30 p.m., a motion will need to be made to temporarily adjourn the meeting in order to walk/drive to the address. Once there, we will call the meeting back to order and proceed with the update of the progress. Once that is completed, we’ll come back to City Hall for the rest of the work session agenda. • Kevin Bailey and Clint Wienen from MSA Professional Services will be at the work session on Tuesday night to discuss and update the council on the water system pilot test and the proposed improvements to the water system and plant. Attached are four exhibits for the discussion. • Bill Erb and Brad Hill will be at the work session to talk about a handful of things going on in the fire department. First, they would like to talk to the council about updating the City Code to the 2021 International Fire and its amendments. Currently, the City functions under the 2018 International Fire Code that was adopted in 2021. Next, they would like to talk about adopting a Fire Department Fee Schedule. This would be part of the efforts that have been made with our neighboring communities to coordinate a fee schedule that would be consistent with one another for all building projects in the area. Lastly, they would like to update the council on some departmental training initiatives they have put into place. Attached is a memo from Bill, a draft of an ordinance and a draft of a fee schedule.
