CITY OF TIFFIN
CITY ADMINISTRATOR
REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL
May 17, 2024
• Items J-1 and J-2 – I believe we have the items council discussed with the developer of
Tiffin Heights West at the last meeting resolved and they are reflected on the
preliminary plat (redrawn property line for Lot 56) and in the developer’s agreement
(water and sanitary sewer costs and dust control). We believe this is now ready for
approval.
• The Kimberlite South Project continues to progress well even though the rain this week
has pretty much washed out most of the work that was scheduled. Moving forward, the
intent is to finish the asphalt at the entrance, backfill, paint and seed within the next
two weeks. Once that is completed and we’ve done a walkthrough, I believe we’ll be
able to open the road to the public.
• Phase 3 of the Original Town Urbanization Project was scheduled to start on May 14th.
Weather has delayed that as well. If it does not start yet this week, it will start the
week of the 20th.
• Just a friendly reminder that councilpersons Schnedler and Limkemann along with
myself will be joining the council meeting and work session next week via Teams as
we will be at the ICSC conference.
• Attached is the updated ‘Tiffin Brochure’ that we will be using at the ICSC conference
next week with some new photos, logo, verbiage and statistics. Big thanks to Bri
Wilkerson for helping put this together again this year with some assistance from
councilperson Schnedler.
• About this time last year, the City hosted the first ever Food Truck Friday. The event
went really well and we received a lot of positive feedback. With the council’s
blessing, and after the entrance to the City Park is reopened, City Hall staff (Bri) would
be willing to coordinate this event again this year and maybe even try to host it once a
month.
• Clint Wienen from MSA is still scheduled to be at the June 4th council meeting to
provide an update on the 60% complete design review of the water plant.
