CITY OF TIFFIN
CITY ADMINISTRATOR
REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL
September 27, 2024
• Rathje is still working on Stage 1 of the Original Town Project. It is going well however,
I talked to the project manager on Thursday and he stated that once they get done with
this first stage they are going to move to the watermain installation on Highway 6 and
the watermain bore from Railroad Street to Summerhays. They will not be tearing
anything else up on Main Street, 3rd Street or Grant Street. Rathje does not want to
potentially run into a weather problem so they are going to wait until next year to start
the remaining areas.
• As a follow-up to the last council meeting, the additional radar speed signs for Roberts
Ferry Road and Oakdale Boulevard have been ordered. Those usually take a couple of
weeks to be delivered but once we receive them, the Public Works Department will get
them installed.
• Wednesday of last week I received the draft of the hotel market feasibility study from
Core Distinction Group that included a financial proforma. It is a large document that I
am still reviewing. I should have a more in-depth update for the meeting on Tuesday
night.
• The next Joint Entities Meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 21st at 4:30 p.m. The
meeting will be hosted by University Heights at their City Hall located at 1302 Melrose
Avenue. If anyone has an agenda item they would like to have discussed, please submit
it to me prior to Wednesday, October 16th.
• The Public Works Department started work at Woodfield Park last week to elevate the
drainage issue that occurs after a heavy rain event. So far, the project is going well.
Brian Detert will have some pictures to share on Tuesday night.
• Just a friendly reminder of the Joint Work Session with the Clear Creek Amana School
Board that is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be
held at the CCA District Office in Oxford. The agenda will be sent out on October 11th.
