CITY OF TIFFIN
CITY ADMINISTRATOR
REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL
November 1, 2024
• Rathje Construction is finishing up the last parts of Stage 1 of the Original Town Project.
With the exception of a couple of sidewalk approaches, all the concrete work has been
completed. LL Pelling completed the asphalt at the intersections of Summerhays Street
and Highway 6 and East 3rd Street and Main Street. Pelling will be back in town around
November 11th to put the second lift on all of 3rd Street and Summerhays Street. This
will shut down the project until next spring.
• Everything required to be submitted to the DOT for the North Park Road Improvements
Project was submitted on Thursday. This solidifies the bid date for the project of
December 17th. With the timing of that bid date being the same as a council meeting
date, I don’t know if we will be able to award a bid at that meeting or if it will need to be
at the first meeting in January of 2025. I will know more about that though as the date
gets closer.
• The Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons system designed for the roundabout at Park
Road and Highway 6 is scheduled to be delivered by the end of this week. Advantage
Traffic Control is planning on pouring the footings potentially on Friday or early next
week so the system can be installed as soon as possible.
• Just an FYI, the City’s Auditors will be here on Tuesday, November 19th and
Wednesday, November 20th, to conduct the FY 2023-2024 audit. We continue to be
very pleased with the partnership we have established with BerganKDV and look
forward to working with them again this year.
• Just a friendly reminder that City Hall will be closed on Monday, November 11th in
observance of Veteran’s Day.
