CITY OF TIFFIN
CITY ADMINISTRATOR
REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL – NOTES FOR WORK SESSION ITEMS
November 27, 2024
• Even though we will be resetting the public hearing date for the potential rezoning of these
lots in Prairie West to December 17th, Greg Stiltner will be at the work session to discuss
the proposed concept change with the council. The concept is attached to Resolution 2024-
074, which is included in the regular packet. Greg is proposing to rezone the three lots
from Office Commercial to R-8, Multi-Family with three private streets coming off Tall
Grass Avenue. The proposed concept would somewhat mirror the units that are at the west
end of the Prairie West Development, west of Bainberry Street. The difference being that
Greg’s concept would be seven total units per building compared to only having six total
units for the buildings along Bainberry Street.
• Below are the code sections from both North Liberty and Coralville that address truck
parking in residential areas. Please review so we can determine the specific language to
discuss and potentially propose for an ordinance change.
