BUDGET CALENDER Below is the Proposed Budget Calendar for this year’s process. Please mark these dates on your calendar. December/January – Departmental review of current budget and forecast of FY 2025-2026 Budget December 17th – Brief budget work session with City Council. Review of last year’s budget and next year’s priorities. January 7th – Budget work session with City Council. Second review of next year’s priorities and review of FY 2025-2026 Revenues January 21st – Budget work session with City Council February 4th – Budget work session with City Council February 11th – Budget work session with City Council (if necessary) February 18th – Budget work session with City Council. Complete Proposed Tax Rate form March 5th – Submit Proposed Tax Rate form to Iowa Department of Management March 18th – Set Public Hearing for Proposed Tax Rate form April 1st – Public Hearing on Proposed Tax Rate form and set Notice of Public Hearing for adoption of FY 2025-2026 Budget April 15th – Budget Public Hearing and Adoption April 30th – Certified Budget to County Auditor and filed with the Department of Management July 1st – Certified Budget takes effect
