______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL February 14, 2025 • Progress continues on the design of the Highway 6 expansion. We also continue to work on the agreement with the DOT on the breakdown and certain costs to be split for the project. Between the City, MSA and the DOT, I hope to have something for the council to officially act on in March or early April. • The Preliminary Plat for the 80/380 Commerce Park was recommended for approval at the Planning & Zoning Meeting on Wednesday night. This plat extends Village Drive all the way to South Park Road. The initial plan is to have the extension completed this calendar year. As part of this project, and as we have discussed with the developer at a previous work session, we will work with Dorsey & Whitney to amend the current development agreement the City has with the developer that originally extended Village Drive in 2017. The amended development agreement will now encompass the entire street and lift certain restrictions placed within the original development agreement. This document should be completed and ready for council approval within the next couple of months. • Last week I was sent an e-mail from the Census Bureau. The e-mail stated that due to the hiring freeze executive order, this will not allow them to hire the temporary field staff needed to perform the special census at this time. I expect this to be a temporary situation although I am still waiting on more official information from our census bureau representative. Again, the hope is this is only temporary and we will still have the special census performed in June. I will keep everyone posted as this situation continues to develop. • The preconstruction meeting for the North Park Road Improvements is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18th. I should have a tentative timeline for the project at the meeting Tuesday night.
