CITY OF TIFFIN
CITY ADMINISTRATOR
REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL
January 15, 2021
• Item K-2 – Although there has only been utility work done on the second phase of the
Original Town Project, this pay estimate is for Rathje’s stored materials. The contract
allows for the contractor to be paid for these items (light poles) once they are delivered.
Attached to one of the estimates submitted at City Hall are pictures of the materials as
proof of delivery.
• Attached are the results from the DOT’s traffic study on Highway 6 from Ireland
Avenue to the east city limits. As you can see, the only real change is the elimination
of the 55 mph speed limit zone eastbound and the dropping the speed limit to 45 mph
westbound once inside the city limits.
• Although I continue to work on the FY 2021-2022 budget, the change to the new
software is taking me a little longer to get through it than it normally would.
Therefore, I would like to suggest a special council meeting on Tuesday, January 26th
or Wednesday, January 27th.
• The next Joint Entities Meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 25th and will be
hosted by Coralville. This will be an electronic meeting through Zoom. The agenda is
supposed to e-mail next Thursday.
