The plan would be to use the existing grade until we get to the area west of the existing mulch pile. We’ll grade and shape this area to make a smoother transition up to the existing water tower road. We’ll also shape a small ditch on the north side of the temporary road and install a temporary pipe to get storm water from the north side to the south. As discussed, we’ll make the road 20 feet wide and place 8-inches of Class A Roadstone. We discussed perhaps placing 6 inches and seeing how it would hold up but I think we’d be better off going with 8 inches right away. Placing 6 inches on the sandy soils will struggle to carry a fire truck. Below is the cost estimate for the temporary road. Emergency Rd Qty Unit Unit Price Total Grading & Shaping 1.00 LS $ 7,500.00 $ 7,500.00 Temp Culvert 1.00 LS $ 750.00 $ 750.00 Cl. A Roadstone (8in depth) 1,650.00 TN $ 16.20 $ 26,730.00 Temp Seeding/Fert/Mulch 1.25 AC $ 1,500.00 $ 1,875.00 Total Est. Cost: $ 36,855.00
