______________________________________________________________________________ CITY OF TIFFIN CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL October 1, 2021 • Project Updates: o Rathje Construction continues to work on the underground utilities in the next stage of the Original Town Project and should start removing the pavement on Main Street next week. There is also some curb and gutter sections on Second Street and Summerhays that need to be removed and replaced because they were out of compliance. Those areas should start next week as well. o The City Hall Permeable Pavers Parking Lot project is substantially complete. A walk-through with the contractor, engineer, the DNR representative and myself was performed Tuesday of this week. There are a few damaged pavers that need to be replaced but other than that, the project looks really good. The pavers project at the Dog Park has the majority of the curb and gutter poured and that project should also continue next week. • Our claim with EMC Insurance on the repair event from Well #4 has been resolved and the file has been closed. The City received $73,295.48, which was the total amount of the claim minus the $5000 deductible. • Jon Thomas with Workforce Solutions will be at the October 19th council meeting to present the final report for the law enforcement assessment. This will be a work session item and to make sure we have enough time to cover everything, I’d like to start that meeting at 5:30 p.m. Please let me know prior to the meeting if that time will work into everyone’s schedule or if there is another time (possibly earlier yet) that would work better. • All the mulch has been delivered and placed around the playground equipment in the City Parks. The Public Works Department did a really nice job with this. All areas where the mulch was placed looks great. • Just a friendly reminder that I will be out of the office Monday – Wednesday of next week at the ICMA Annual Conference.
