This one is through the Natural Resource Conservation Service. The focus, again is on providing technical assistance to accelerate practice adoption to improve soil health (water quality), we will specifically target phosphorous, sediment and bacteria. We again will be able to implement approximately 16 of the objectives outlined in our Watershed Management Plan. The funding will help to facilitate up to 9 outreach events, plus several smaller peer to peer gatherings to promote flood awareness, soil health and awareness of urban and rural impacts on stormwater. The total project budget is $556,460.00 and the grant asks for a one to one match, I am asking for a little over that to improve our chances so our match will total $280,731.00, over 5 years. If we proceed with an application the project will require a cash contribution from the Clear Creek Watershed Coalition members. Based on “Table 9-3. Possible Contribution Formula Supporting the CCWC” page 178 in the Watershed Management Plan, the Tiffin 2021 contribution would be $3,208.80 plus four more years for a grand total of $16,044.00 over the 5-year life of the grant. The proposal is due May 10th and if there is a consensus to submit an application, we will need a letter of support from Tiffin committing to the cash match, by 5:00 pm on May 5th if at all possible.
