ON-GOING PROJECTS
REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER TREATMENT PLANT DESIGN – CLINT WIENEN
A preconstruction meeting was held on May 22nd. Tricon is tentatively planning on getting started with
construction the 1st week of June.
HIGHWAY 6 CONCEPT AND COST ESTIMATE – JAMES WATTERS
Coordination with franchise utilities in the right-of-way remains ongoing. MSA is soliciting responses from
remaining utility coordinators. Preliminary work plans from utilities are due June 16, 2025.
Coordination on the addition of a right-turn-lane for the Grove Park development at 443 Marengo Road is
in progress. Contact has been made with the developer and IowaDOT regarding design requirements and
documentation.
SYSTEMWIDE SANITARY SEWER MODEL – ERIC THOMPSON
Flow meters have been collecting data, which are collected every two weeks for review to ensure they are
functioning correctly. GIS sanitary pipe network is being reviewed to populate missing inverts, prior to
construction of the SWMM model.
NORTH PARK ROAD IMPROVEMENTS – JAMES WATTERS
The detour of N Park Rd for through traffic was placed on April 28th. MSA and City have been in coordination
with CCA schools who have issued newsletters to parents informing them of the upcoming detour route.
Following feedback on the function of the closure, additional signs have been added along Highway 6 to
indicate that North Park Road is closed.
Staging sheets (J.01 to J.101) have been reissued to reflect the new staging plan. This splits the project into
three stages (stage 1 has two substages). The whole of Stage 1 is expected to be completed this Summer.
Stage 2 will begin after school is back in session.
The section of North Park Road from the school bus loop to the Oak Hill Elementary entrance has been
closed for Stage 1A. Excavation, placement of the pedestrian underpass, additional storm sewer and water
main are anticipated to begin in late May.
Stage 1B closures just south of Oak Hill’s entrance and just north of Tiffin Elementary’s entrance will take
place on June 2nd, 2025. This date has been confirmed as an acceptable closure date by the Clear Creek
Amana Community School District.
