Resolution No. 2026-003 – A Resolution to Proceed with Two Additional Street Lights on Roberts Ferry Road North of Oakdale Boulevard

AGENDA ITEM # I-3 AGENDA INFORMATION TIFFIN CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION DATE: January 16, 2026 AGENDA ITEM: Resolution No. 2026-003 – Street Light Resolution Adding Two (2) new Streetlights Along Roberts Ferry Road. ACTION: Motion Purpose The purpose of this agenda item is to present a request to add two new streetlights along Roberts Ferry Road and to seek Council approval of Street Lighting Resolution No. 2026-003. Alliant Energy Field Designer Troy Andrews provided the following materials: • The Street Light Resolution Form • A rough installation estimate, based on trenching and excluding frost/adverse condition charges • Location details and specifications for the two new lights These documents form the basis for the proposed resolution to authorize installation. Proposed Lighting Improvements According to the attached Street Lighting Resolution (No. 2026-003), the City would direct Alliant Energy to install two new LED streetlights at the following locations: 1. Northwest Corner of Roberts Ferry Road and Oakdale Blvd 2. Approximately 420 feet north of Roberts Ferry Road and Oakdale Blvd in the west right-of-way Specifications (per resolution form): • Quantity: 2 new lights • Wattage: 72W LED fixtures • Pole Type / Height: 30-ft steel poles • Installation Method: Trenching (estimate does not include frost or adverse weather condition charges) Fiscal Impact Alliant Energy provided a rough cost estimate, pending final conditions. Frost or adverse ground conditions may increase the final installation cost. Recommendation Staff recommends that the City Council Approve Resolution No. 2026-003 authorizing Alliant Energy to install two new LED streetlights on Roberts Ferry Road as outlined in the attached resolution; and Direct staff to coordinate with Alliant Energy for scheduling and final cost confirmation.
