RESOLUTION NO. 1993-24 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO REQUEST VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION OF HIGHWAY 6 INSIDE THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Tiffin has annexed certain lands on the east side of town that lie adjoining Highway 6 on the north and south sides of the roadway; and WHEREAS, it would avoid the anomaly of the highway lying outside the City jurisdiction where all of the adjoining land was within the City; and WHEREAS, the City would be in a better position to address the traffic control needs of users of the highway in the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFFIN, IOWA, that the City Council of the City of Tiffin hereby requests the Iowa Department of Transportation to seek the voluntary annexation of the portion of Highway 6 that lies west of the eastern most City boundaries lying north and south of the highway as described by the attached legal description. Upon completion of the application for annexation the City shall approve the same. On the 13th day of October, 1993, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson [signature] introduced the above-captioned resolution, and made a motion for approval of the resolution. The motion was seconded by Councilperson [signature]. Ayes: [signature] [signature] [signature] [signature] Nays: [signature] The motion carried. WHEREUPON, the Mayor declared that the RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO REQUEST VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION OF HIGHWAY 6 INSIDE THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
