Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, March 7, 1973, Town of Tiffin, Tiffin, Iowa Mayor Stratton presiding: Present: Kobold, Birtcher, Spivey, Janssen. Absent: Potter Att. Neuzil present. Minutes of Meeting February 7, 1973, read and approved. Clerk to contact Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric Co. about the Co. cutting a sewer line in late Oct. Representative from the company present when Jack Morgan was repairing the broken line. The representative said the Co. would pay for the repairs. Bill Bream present: He would like to know how soon he could bring the sewer line to his property. Town to pay for the digging to his property. To contact Jack Morgan to do the work as soon as possible. Roger Janssen made a motion to approve Bill Bream's application for a building permit for a house. Kandy Kobold seconded. All in favor by roll call vote. Clerk to send Bill Bream a bill for Sewer Tap-on fee of $250.00 and for Water Tap-on fees of $100. Kandy Kobold made a motion to approve an application for a remodelong permit from Mary A. Quinlin for her house on Main St. Ted Spivey seconded. All in favor by roll call vote. Ralph Brown present to report: 1. Water running off of Voparil property, washing dirt into street. 2. Water Tower run-over, new parts ordered. Discuss-- Ladder Safety Cage. Ted Spivey and Mayor Stratton to make a report at the next regular meeting on Tower Maintainence. Discuss: Use of testing facilities at Water Quality Management for tests from the Town's Sewer Plant. Hawkeye Engineering present to discuss Sewer Pond plans to date. Afluent from the Plant at present very good. Included in the plans is a cavity for Chlorination. Preliminary Estimate-- $24,170.00 plus approx. 9,500. if bentinite needed. Discuss how to finance- General Obligation Bonds. Hawkeye to check on possibility of Town getting Federal Aid. Water Quality Management to discuss at a future date the Town's cost for use of their lab. facilities. Att. Neuzil reports that he wrote to Mr. Sadler bout the Agreement with the Town, but to date has had no reply about Mr. Sadler discussing the matter with the Council. Att. Neuzil to write to Mr. Sadler again. Discuss Scheetz proposed Trailor Court--- Where to place manhole, possibility of a esement to the elements property. Ted Spivey and Mayor to check possible location.
