C. Discussion ofOriginal Town Urbanization Project – Sidewalk onEast Side ofCollege Street
Discussion: City Engineer wanted todiscuss thesidewalk oneastsideofCollege Street. Due totrees,
hedges andtopography thesidewalk mayneed tobemoved ornotbeinstalled. Council discussed that
sidewalks arenotoptional. The consensus ofCouncil istomake thesidewalk work, possibly bygoing
behind thetreeswith a4ftsidewalk. The agreement was tohave thevacant lothave 5ftsidewalk to
Sedlacek’slot,then 4ftbehind thetrees down toUpchurch’swhich would change backtoa5ft
sidewalk andremoving hedges ifnecessary.
Also haddiscussion with similar issues forthe 2nd St & Grant property with fencing intheROW and
directly where thesidewalk needs tobeinstalled. Council agrees thefence needs tobemoved, have
homeowner move it. Ifthey donotmove thefence, then theCity orCity’sContractor willhave tomove
it.Discussions onifcost willbebilled tohomeowner. Building Official Brian Shay mentioned hehad a
conversation withthe homeowner andadvised thatthey should notdoanything with the fence duetothe
location inthecityROW.
