OtherspresentCityClerkAbigailHora, Public WorksDirectorBrianDetert, andBuildingOfficialBrianShay. B. Agenda Additions/Agenda Approval Motion toapprove agenda bySchnedler. Second byLimkemann. Allayes, agenda approved. C. Discussion ofFire Department Transition and Timeline for City ofTiffin Fire Chief Discussion: Mayor Steve Berner does notbelieve theCity should hire afull-timefirechief. Council person Eric Schnedler discussed other funding options likethrough thebuilding department, andthe townships. Council person Chris Olney believes weshould haveaplan totransition inafewyears down theroad. Council person Skylar Limkemann isinfullsupport ofhiring afull-time firechief. Hewants to ensure weget theright person forthejob. Limkemann provides factual data tosupport this position. Former Chief Brian Detert does notbelieve theCity should hireafull-time firechief. Current Chief Brad Hilliswilling torunthedepartment asavolunteer chief. Council person JimBartels likes theidea of advertising fortheposition butnotinfavor ofafull-time position. Council Person AlHavens does not want tohire achief andfind duties ifthey are notneeded, we should concentrate oncompensating the current firedepartment. D.
