RESOLUTION NO. 2021-044 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA Whereas, the owner of the property located at on the west edge of Tiffin on Highway 6 known as the Vikel south 50 feet has requested and submitted an application for voluntary annexation to the City of Tiffin, and; Whereas, the total property to be annexed as legally described below and included in the attached Exhibit A, Commencing at the Northwest Corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 29, Township 80 North, Range 7 West, of the Fifth Principal Meridian, Johnson County, Iowa; Thence S01°16'05"E, along the West Line of said Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, 1169.97 feet, to the Point of Beginning; Thence S39°33'40"E, along a line parallel with and 50.00 feet normally distant Northeasterly from the North Right-of-Way Line of Highway No. 6, 111.46 feet; Thence S84°23'12"E, along a line parallel with and 50.00 feet normally distant Northeasterly from said North Right-of-Way Line, 1250.79 feet, to a Point on the West Line of the Parcel of Land Conveyed by Corrective Court Officer Deed, as Recorded in Book 3861 at Pages 570-572 of the Records of the Johnson County Recorder's Office; Thence S00°52'02"E, along said West Line, 50.32 feet, to its intersection with said North Right-of-Way Line; Thence N84°23'12"W, along said North Right-of-Way Line, 1277.09 feet; Thence N39°33'40"W, along said North Right-of-Way Line, 68.76 feet, to its intersection with the West Line of said Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter; Thence N01°16'05"W, along said West Line, 80.69 feet, to the Point of Beginning. Said Annexation Parcel contains 1.55 Acres and is subject to easements and restrictions of record. Whereas, it is in the best interest of the City of Tiffin that said property be annexed to the City at this time. Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to approve the annexation request of the property referred to herein and shown on the attached Exhibit shall hereafter become a part of the City of Tiffin, Iowa. Be it further resolved that the City Administrator or City Clerk is hereby directed to file the appropriate documentation with the City Development Board in order to proceed with the finalization of this annexation.
