RE: ISO Public Protection Classification (PPC) Results
DATE: April 29, 2024
I would like to take the opportunity to share with you the results of the City’s ISO analysis audit on the
delivery of structural fire suppression being provided to our community. Our PPC (Public Protection
Classification) rating has been upgraded from a Class 5/5Y to a Class 4/4Y rating effective August 1,
2024.
We continue to promote and implement improvements to our day-to-day operations, enhancing the areas
of community risk reduction, training, personnel deployment, personnel and equipment certifications,
implementation of standard operating guidelines and policies, and record management. These
improvements will continue to develop and factor into maintaining or upgrading our rating in the future.
A previous analysis from 2018 was factored off of 56.11 points earned out of 105.5. The new analysis
determined that we earned 68.08 points out of 105.5, which was an increase of 11.97 points.
Below is the new breakdown of the points each category received towards our Public Protection
Classification.
