RESOLUTION NO. 2025- 094 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE 2025 UPDATE OF THE MULTI - JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN FOR JOHNSON COUNTY, IOWA Whereas, the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, recognizes the threat that natural hazards pose to people and property within City of Tiffin; and, Whereas, the site plan/ exhibit of the property is attached to this resolution; and, Whereas, Johnson County has prepared a mufti - hazard mitigation plan, hereby know as the 2025 update of the Multi -Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for Johnson County, Iowa, in accordance with federal laws including the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, as amended; the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968, as amended; and the National Dam Safety Program Act, as amended; and, Whereas, the 2025 update of the Multi - Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for Johnson County, Iowa, identifies mitigation goals and actions to reduce or eliminate long- term risk to people and property in the City of Tiffin from the impacts of the future hazards and disasters; and, Whereas, adoption by the City Council of the City of Tiffin demonstrates its commitment to hazard mitigation and achieving the goals outlined in the 2025 update of the Multi - Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for Johnson County, Iowa. Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, that; Section 1. In accordance with Tiffin Municipal Code of Ordinances, the City Council of the City of Tiffin adopts the 2025 update of the Multi -Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for Johnson County, Iowa. While content related to the City of Tiffin may require revisions to meet the plan approval requirements, changes occurring after adoption will not require the City of Tiffin to re -adopt any further iterations of the plan. Subsequent plan updates following the approval period for this plan will require separate adoption resolutions. On the 16th day of December, 2025, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Orris introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2025- 094,A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE 2025 UPDATE OF THE MULTI -JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN FOR JOHNSON COUNTY, IOWA, and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Schnedler. Ayes: Limkemann, Havens, Orris, Olney, Schnedler. Nays: None. Absent: None. Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Kasparek declared that the RESOLUTION NO. 2025- 094, A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE 2025 UPDATE OF THE MULTI -JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN FOR JOHNSON COUNTY, IOWA, to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto. Passed by the City Council on the 16th day of December, 2025.
