RESOLUTION NO. 2019-070 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA Whereas, the owner of the property located at 2718 340th Street, SW, Tiffin, Iowa, has requested and submitted an application for voluntary annexation to the City of Tiffin, and; Whereas, the total property to be annexed as legally described below and included in Exhibit A, including street right-of-way, A PORTION OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 33, TOWNSHIP 80 NORTH, RANGE 7 WEST OF THE FIFTH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, JOHNSON COUNTY, IOWA, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Beginning at the Northwest Corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 33, Township 80 North, Range 7 West, of the Fifth Principal Meridian, Johnson County, Iowa; Thence N89°21'23"E, along the North Line of said Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, 1330.60 feet, to the Northeast Corner thereof, and the Northeast Corner of Auditor's Parcel 95115, in accordance with the Plat thereof Recorded in Plat Book 36 at Page 34 of the Records of the Johnson County Recorder's Office; Thence S00°38'07"E, along the East Line of said Auditor's Parcel 95115, a distance of 986.56 feet; Thence N88°18'17"W, along said East Line, 615.34 feet; Thence S01°19'11"E, along said East Line, 109.59 feet; Thence S01°14'59"W, along said East Line, 249.81 feet, to the Southeast Corner thereof, and a Point on the South Line of said Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter; Thence S89°15'44"W, along the South Line of said Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, 687.80 feet, to the Southwest Corner thereof; Thence N01°32'53"W, along the West Line of said Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, 1322.00 feet, to the Point of Beginning. Said Annexation Parcel contains 35.12 Acres, and is subject to easements and restrictions of record. Whereas, it is in the best interest of the City of Tiffin that said property be annexed to the City at this time. Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to approve the annexation request of the property referred to herein and shown on the attached Exhibit shall hereafter become a part of the City of Tiffin, Iowa. Be it further resolved that the City Administrator or City Clerk is hereby directed to file the appropriate documentation with the City Development Board in order to proceed with the finalization of this annexation.
