RESOLUTION NO. 2018-108 On this 20th day of November, 2018, at the regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Ryan introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2018-108, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, THE FOREVERGREEN ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AND RETAINING AN ENGINEER, APPRAISER AND ATTORNEY and made a motion for approval. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Bartels. APPROVING THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, THE FOREVERGREEN ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AND RETAINING AN ENGINEER, APPRAISER AND ATTORNEY WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on November 20, 2018 on the intent to acquire or condemn if necessary a portion of property and/or an interest in properties for the public improvement, The Forevergreen Road Construction Project. WHEREAS, persons interested in the project presented their views regarding the proposed public improvement, The Forevergreen Road Construction Project, and regarding the proposed acquisition of property for the public improvement, The Forevergreen Road Construction Project. As a result of the hearing and public input thereon, the Tiffin City Council hereby RESOLVES to proceed with the project. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Tiffin will: A. Retain MMS Consultants, Inc. to develop the site-specific design of the project and make the final selection of the route of the project. B. Retain MRS Appraisals LLC to make an appraisal to determine the just compensation, damages as required by law. C. Retain Cook Appraisal to make a review of the appraisal of MRS Appaisals LLC. D. Retain Robert W. Goodwin of Goodwin Law Office, P.C., to assist the City of Tiffin in the condemnation process. E. Designate Doug Boldt, Tiffin City Administrator as the Contact Person for the owners to contact in regard to this public improvement project.
