DocuSignEnvelopeID:FA234455-61DB-4316-BB47-58ADA45FA3E9 RESOLUTIONNO.2018-059 ARESOLUTIONAUTHORIZINGMAILINGANDPUBLICATIONOFNOTICEOF INTENTTOACOMMENCEPUBLICIMPROVEMENTPROJECTTO CONSTRUCTAROUNDABOUTATTHEINTERSECTIONOFHIGHWAY 6ANDPARKROADANDTOACQUIREPROPERTYFORTHE PROJECT;ANDSETTINGTHEDATEOFPUBLICHEARINGON JULY17,2018 WHEREAS,theCity ofTiffin proposes toacquire property under power ofeminent domain forapublic improvement project and wishes togivenotice ofintent tocommence theproject toallproperty owners whose properties maybeacquired inwhole orinpartfor theproject; and, WHEREAS,theCity Council oftheCity ofTiffin intends tocommence aproject to construct aRoundabout atthe intersection ofHighway 6andPark Road which project is tobeknown astheRoundabout Project; and WHEREAS,partial funds forthisproject areavailable inthe2017 General Obligation Annual Appropriations Corporate Purpose Bonds account andtheremaining funds tobe obtained inafuture General Obligation Bond. WHEREAS,before theCity ofTiffin canproceed withsaidproject, theCityCouncil must: a. Hold apublic hearing, providing theopportunity forpublic input onthequestion of proceeding withthepublic improvement andontheacquisition orcondemnation of property interests fortheproject; and b. Adopt aresolution declaring itsintent toproceed withsaid project andauthorizing the acquisition ofproperty interests required fortheproject bynegotiation or condemnation. NOW,THEREFORE BEITRESOLVED bytheCityCouncil oftheCityofTiffin, Iowa, that: 1. Documentation showing theproposed location oftheRoundabout Project shall be placed onfileintheoffice oftheCityClerk and made available forpublic viewing 2. Roundabout Project andto th acquire property rights therefore istobeheld onthe17 day ofJuly, 2018, at7:00 p.m.inthe Tiffin City Hall, Tiffin, Iowa, orifsaidmeeting iscancelled, atthenext meeting oftheCity Council thereafter asposted bytheCity Clerk. 3. TheCityClerk ishereby authorized anddirected tocause notice oftheCity's intent to proceed withsaid project and authorize theacquisition ofproperty forsaid project to bemailed andpublished; saidpublication tobepublished inanewspaper published at leastonce weekly andhaving ageneral circulation intheCity, notlessthan four (4) normore than twenty (20)days before said hearing.
