RESOLUTION NO. 2018-054 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF TIFFIN TO ENTER INTO A LICENSE AGREEMENT AND A CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE IOWA INTERSTATE RAILROAD, LTD FOR AN AT-GRADE CROSSING AT MEHMEN AVENUE Whereas, the City of Tiffin would like to install an at-grade crossing over the Iowa Interstate Railroad at the proposed Mehmen Avenue; and, Whereas, this crossing would create a safe, signalized crossing to the City’s Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities and also connect the City’s Trail Phase 5 project with the proposal Trail Phase 6 project; and, Whereas, this new crossing would cause the closure and removal of the Brown Street crossing. Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign all necessary documents to enter into the at-grade crossing at Mehmen Avenue. On the 15th day of May, 2018, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Ryan introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2018-054, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF TIFFIN ENTER INTO A LICENSE AGREEMENT AND A CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE IOWA INTERSTATE RAILROAD, LTD FOR AN AT-GRADE CROSSING AT MEHMEN AVENUE and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Schnedler. Ayes: Havens, Ryan, Bartels, Schnedler, Upton Nays: None Absent: Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared that RESOLUTION NO. 2018-054, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF TIFFIN TO ENTER INTO A LICENSE AGREEMENT AND A CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE IOWA INTERSTATE RAILROAD, LTD FOR AN AT-GRADE CROSSING AT MEHMEN AVENUE to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
